The DropShop platform is composed of two types of Users: Sponsors, who create lotteries (also known as Drops), and Participants, who stake funds to win them. As a decentralized platform, any entity in the world can be a Sponsor, and any entity in the world can be a Participant; thus, every user can be both a Sponsor and a Participant. The interface when using the platform as a Sponsor or Participant differ greatly, although every user has access to both. However, most users will utilize the platform as just one of these user types.

All users are permanently tied to one or more wallet addresses which serve as their primary identification within the system. This is the only requirement for interacting with the system. However, they can add additional information tied to that wallet including a username, Avatar, and social media accounts. This is more critical for Sponsors in order to identify themselves and their Lotteries to Participants.
